Enabling people living with autism in Scotland through the whole life journey

“ Thanks for taking the time to listen, I feel as if a weight has been lifted.” A parent looking for diagnosis advice.
We have a dedicated team of advisors who are trained and experienced in working with people on the autism spectrum. Each year we handle hundreds of calls and our advice line enables a direct first response to families looking for information, advice and support.
When a child or young person is first diagnosed, parents often have many questions and concerns. Others may be seeking information on how to go forward for a diagnostic assessment.
We know that it is not only parents and family members who need information and advice. Individuals who are on the spectrum and the broader community may also be in need of the specific information and support we can offer.
Our advisors will also respond to professional enquiries. We offer advice and information and are also willing to discuss partnership approaches to providing more specific direct support to families.
Every caller’s needs are unique and are responded to in a professional and confidential manner. Previous users of our advice line service have benefited from advice on a range of issues such as toileting, eating and sleeping, and more sensitive issues like depression and anxiety are also common lines of enquiry.
