Making a Volcano

This week at assembly Sam showed us a volcano that his class had made. He told us some facts about volcanoes and then, using a trick involving baking powder, washing up liquid, and vinegar, made the volcano erupt! Everybody watched as the liquid bubbled over the side, like lava would on a real volcano.

Jason then got up and shared that he is going to be trying his hand at building a PC! He submitted his idea for the PC and it has been approved – he hopes to start next week and will update us on his progress.

This week star awards went to:

  • Jack for helping to set up the art club in the cafe courtyard area and supporting his peers who came along
  • Sam for being thoughtful and supportive of another pupil
  • Alexander for successfully visiting the shops and following his list
  • Adam for identifying the day of the week and taking the lead during morning group on Wednesday

Two very special star awards also went to David and Anders who both received Dynamic Youth Awards this week. David’s was for accessing the local shops and Anders got two for developing independent living skills and accessing the local library.

Well done everybody for these fantastic achievements
