Neurodivergent Colleagues

Scottish Autism strives to have a welcoming, inclusive environment where our colleagues and their voices matter.

We welcome autistic people and those with lived experience to our organisation. This is particularly important to us that we hear the views and opinions of our neurodivergent colleagues, and strive to become an employer of choice for neurodivergent people.

Some actions we take:

· We provide interview questions in advance for most of our roles and invite autistic people to apply.
· We have an active neurodivergent employees’ forum.
· We have internal colleague training to communicate the experiences of neurodivergent colleagues.
· Our managers are trained autism specialists and we work in a neuro-affirming environment.
· We operate a positive low arousal approach and an autism specific practice framework.
· Flexible working is always considered.
· There are opportunities to contribute and be involved in national autism policy, research and development.
