Last month supported individuals took to the stage at Inspire’s annual performance showcase.

Choosing “Gogglebox” as the theme, the individuals who attend the group each week picked their own ideas for the TV shows and music that would be included in the performance, as well as helping with the choreography.

Stewart Wilson, a member of the group said:

“I enjoyed going to the show and felt a wee bit good about it. My favourite part was dancing to ‘Tonight I’m free’ by PJ and Duncan. I was a wee bit nervous, but it was good.”

Another group member, Karen Laverty said:

“I enjoyed taking part in the Googlebox show. My favourite is the blonde one. I used to play Barbie’s. I feel happy with the show. My Dad comes to the show and it makes me happy when he comes.”

Claire Ritchie, Senior Autism Practitioner at Inspire said:

“The group are so supportive each other and will often wish each other luck and cheer each other on each week. It is a joy to see how much it means to everyone. It’s hard not to feel the transactional positive energy that oozes out during these shows as well as during our weekly practice sessions on a Tuesday. If you haven’t had a chance to attend one of our performances, I urge you to come along in future if you can!”
