Conall and Gavin, two people we support took advantage of the hot weather last month to enjoy a 3-night stay at Lost Shore Surf Resort near Ratho in Edinburgh. The pair enjoyed surfing, exploring the wave pool and even took a boat trip to see the Forth Bridges along with their Autism Practitioners, Kerry and Lindsay.
Kerry, who has been supporting Conall for the past four years said:
“We all had a fantastic time at Lost Shore Surf Resort. They particularly enjoyed spending time on the surfboards on land first, getting a feel for them and becoming familiar with the equipment. They also really enjoyed the wave pool.”
Conall, who uses Makaton to communicate, expressed throughout the holiday how excited and happy he was and that he wanted to go on a boat trip to see the Forth Bridges.
Lindsay, who has been supporting Gavin for over 10 years commented on how much the pair enjoyed their trip:
“Both boys absolutely loved their time surfing at Lost Shore. They really enjoyed jumping over the waves and splashing around in the water. They were also really settled staying in the lodge.”
Kerry added:
“It was lovely to see how engaged and happy they were throughout the outing.”
Both Conall and Gavin thoroughly enjoyed their time away. The surfing experience and boat trip gave them the opportunity to try new activities, have fun, and enjoy a memorable break.
