To Boldly Go Where No Pupil Has Gone Before
Oak class has been learning about the solar system and outer space this week! One brave pupil read out in front of the whole assembly what she’d learned about the sun, moon and the planets. Some of the other pupils in the class created their own mini solar systems using coloured card and plates.
Tianze has even been thinking about life as an astronaut...
Photos are popping up around the school as part of a new 'total communication' system introduced by our Speech and Language Therapists Chantelle and Judith. The idea is that photographic representations of different areas of the school can be used to help pupils navigate the building.
For example, next to Yvonne there is a photo of her on the wall. If a pupil is asked to visit reception they will be given a smaller version of this photo of Yvonne and when they match it to the bigger photo they will know they are in the right place.
Lots of pupils have had their hard work acknowledged in these last few weeks with star awards given out to: Jack for being patient and contributing to baking; Anders for being responsible when he walked with another pupil to the local park; Jason for returning to class without staff and Luke for fully participating in PE –well done everyone!
Jason was very pleased to get his Star Award
