Friendship, Easter bunny, and cool dance moves

To start off this assembly, everyone took place on their mat, ready to being with our usual yoga poses – the rock, the lying twist and the cobra. The music was very relaxing to allow everyone to focus on their breathing. Well done everybody, yoga was great this week, lots of practice has went into perfecting each pose.

It was great to see the wonderful friendship between Ross and Caine.

Then it was time for Attention Autism
“I’ve got something in my bucket, what could it be…?”

A carrot! An orange carrot.

A soft white fluffy ball…it looked very like a rabbit’s tail.

Rabbit ears too!

Jay held the carrot, put on the rabbit tail and the ears and hopped about just like the Easter Bunny at this week’s assembly. Well done for being such a realistic rabbit, Jay!

Lucy and Mairead then had a bunny race with a pink and a yellow bunny and rabbit. Let’s see who won the race…

Look, Listen, Recap

Everyone welcomed Franky to New Struan last week, and Kyran was very helpful to Franky, making him feel so welcome. Franky had a very bust first week at New Struan playing on the bikes, taking part in animation and food tech too.

The pupils enjoyed the Careers Fayre last week with visits from the police, banks and a local garage. Alexander had a lot of fun when he got to dress up as a police officer.

With the Alice in Wonderland performance just around the corner, there was lots of drama time last week for everyone to practice their parts in preparation for the show.

What a bust week at New Struan School! What will be happening this week?

Tuesday, we have the farm and horse riding. On Wednesday its Drama, cycling and Animation. Rebound Therapy on Thursday and music with Janet on Friday and we have two new pianos, how exciting! Caine was very good this week at reading the board at assembly this week, he let everyone know what was going on. Great job, Caine.

Star Awards time, and this week, there were SIX!

Drumroll to find out who they all were….

Ellie got a Star Award this week for going to her first opticians’ appointment, fantastic!

Alexander had his first dinner at New Struan flats last week so he receives a Star Award.

Jay blew up the bike tyres at recyk-a-bike.

Jack was awarded his Star Award this week for achieving his National 2 Maths, congratulations Jack!

And Alexander and Ellie both receive this week’s Star Baker Award for heir skills during British Chip Week. They were washing, grating, and concentrating very hard to make cheesy potatoes wedges. Well done to you both.

Caine very kindly volunteered to help Lucy deliver the Star Awards to those who were not at today’s assembly. Thank you Caine.

To end this week’s assembly, Ross and Caine enjoyed dancing to this term’s song ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’ by The Beatles. Caine’s dancing was great with lots of spins and toe tapping techniques! What a wonderful assembly everyone.
