Learning New Signs

During the beginning of our assembly this week, we discussed our Right of the Month, which is:

‘You have the right to be heard and listened to.’

As part of this we are all going to work on our individual class charters to combine into one school charter. Pupils are to keep thinking during the week about what is important to them.

To start ‘Look, Listen’ this week, we all watched an animation that Jack has created of Scooby Doo.

Following this we had our news section as presented by Jack and Jason. The previous week, Jack and Jason went to Forth Valley College for their interviews. They are both waiting to hear back to find out if they can make music at college.

We then found out about how the GB male team won the Wheelchair Basketball World Championships. The team claimed a 79 -62 win over their US rivals. Youtube personalities KSI  and Logan Paul fought each other in a highly publicised boxing match. The match ended with a draw and a rematch has already been scheduled.

Jack’s Joke of the week this week is:

‘I got in touch with my inner self this week. That’s the last time I’m buying 1- ply toilet paper.’

Jason then gave us his ‘Asendo hour’ update. His latest album, ‘Scottish by Nature Part 1’ will be released in a week, and he has provided us with a track listing as a sneak preview.

Following the news we then practiced our new signing song, which is ‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra. Some of the new signs we learned were ‘alligator’, ‘time flies by’, ‘dreaming’, ‘hot’ and ‘sun’.

Our Star Awards this week are:

  • Our Class of the week is Tiree Class.
  • Jay received an award from coming along to our animation workshop for the first time!
  • Well done to David who has been using the Switch to tell funny stories.
  • Our Star Baker this week is Danny for his amazing chopping skills!

Our assembly this week ended with a dance along to the song ‘Reach’ by S Club 7 as chosen by Tiree class.
