Life's a Beach
Last Tuesday we enjoyed our first ever whole school trip to Silver Sands beach in Aberdour! We carefully packed our belongings and our picnic lunch and headed off to the coast.
The sun was shining and it was a great chance to build sandcastles, paddle in the water or hide out in our pop up tent. The quietest part of the day was when the lunch was brought out: a variety of sandwiches, sausage rolls, orange juice or a hot chocolate was enjoyed by all.
To reinforce the events of the day we hosted a special assembly with parents invited. We shared the story of our day at the beach including playing in the sand with buckets and spades and water. We even enjoyed some ice lollies! Jason and Alfie from Birch class then read out their reflections of the day. Alfie said that next time he wants to build more sandcastles and Jason said he loved the ice cold Fanta but the wasps were really annoying!
News reports, like the ones that Alfie and Jason gave, are going to be a new feature in assembly. Last week Aidan gave a brilliant news report on the Queen. Inspired by the news that the Queen is the longest reigning Monarch, Aidan shared four interesting facts about her Majesty: she was a mechanic in World War 2, she doesn’t have a passport, she sent her first email in 1976 and she has two birthdays!
Well done to Aidan, Alife and Jason for being brave and sharing their news during assembly – we look forward to hearing more news reports in the weeks to come!
