Lots of Awards and Fun with Friends

With a quiet start to the assembly, there was a lot to talk about from the first week back. Assembly started this week with Look and Listen and we saw all the things that we have been up to over the week.

Jay had his first gymnastics class and we saw a fantastic video of his beam balance. It was very well done, great work Jay! Julia was with Jenny and Danny made some animal friends with a cat and dog on Wednesday. The pictures were great. The Barra class got to play with some musical instruments with Janice the music teacher. It looked like a lot of fun!

Jack then presented us with the news to give us updates on what will be going on in the second week back at New Struan.

On Tuesday the children can look forward to the big blether as well as a visit to the farm.

On Wednesday there is Drama and cycling.

On Thursday we have Greenroutes to look forward to as well.

Next everyone was laughing and was really impressed with Jacks Jokes of the week! We will share them with you as usual because they are just so funny.

“I took the shell off of my racing snail, thinking it would make him go faster…

If anything it made him more sluggish.”

“If pronouncing my B’s and V’s makes me sound Russian…

Then Soviet!”

“My girlfriend changed a lot since she became vegan…

It’s like I’ve never seen herbivore.”

After the weekly news it was time for a song!  The first song we heard today was Meghan Trainor Better When I’m Dancing. Everybody got up to dance to the contagious beat, signing and singing along as we went. Then we moved onto our Finer Diners skill of the month which we remembered being MAKING A CHOICE and this helps us to choose what we would like to eat at lunch time. The sign of the week this week is ‘feeling’. Jack will find out who we are passing the Eco baton over to!

Next was our Class of the Week which goes to….Barra! Well done to everyone in Barra for gaining 600 points!

In this week’s Star Awards David who received two awards this week, great job David! Jay received an award for trying out gymnastics class for the first time, well done Jay! Kyran also got a positive recognition award for being supportive friend to everyone at New Struan School, what a great friend! This week’s star baker is Eve, congratulations Eve for your first time in food tech and demonstrating excellent food preparation skills.

To end assembly this week, everyone enjoyed a boogie to D.I.S.C.O chosen by the class of the week, Barra!
