New Look for a New Term

Pupils are back after the festive break and are getting back into the way of things at the school. This term sees a few changes however. Previously, chairs in assembly were laid out in rows and typically pupils sat in the same seats every week. Now, however, the chairs are in a U shape allowing pupils to see each other more easily. A photograph of each pupil is attached to a chair and it is the task of the pupil to find their own photo. Each week, their photo moves to a new location and is attached to a different chair. This new assembly layout is a way of introducing flexibility to the pupils in a safe and familiar environment. So far, it has proved very successful and pupils are coping well with the change.

In other news, the new playground is really taking shape. Last week a brand new fort was installed and there is also now a swing basket and some fantastic outdoor musical instruments.

Pupils have already been out enjoying the new equipment which allows them to reinforce skills they have learnt in the classroom and get some exercise at the same time.

All pupils were stars last week because they successfully engaged with the new outdoor play equipment – well done everyone!
