Pupils' Charitable Giving
Following the success of the Christmas Fayre at the school, pupils have kindly donated profits made from the event to local charity Play Alloa.
Play Alloa provide creative and experimental play and social opportunities for children and adults with disabilities and additional support needs. In the past some New Struan School pupils have benefited from the play and social groups the charity runs.
Along with staff from Play Alloa, the Boys Social Group came to the school to collect the cheque for £200 from pupil Anna. Speaking about the donation Project Manager at Play Alloa, Maria Malcolm said: "We were delighted to visit New Struan School and receive this generous donation. We intend to use the funds towards the purchase of some sensory toys which will be of great benefit to the children who attend. Our sincere thanks to everyone involved."
In other news, Holly Class celebrated Burns day last week by making tartan kilts, learning Scottish Country Dancing and painting portraits of Rabbie Burns.
Pupils Jason and Ben had a particularly productive week helping to build a willow arbour in the playground. The arbour surrounds the storytelling corner and is a lovely addition to the playground. For all their hard work, Jason and Ben received a star award during assembly!
