Respecting the Environment

We were delighted this week to have Marley back at our assembly and, in light of his presence we started our assembly by talking about what we would need to do as responsible dog owners of Marley, which included picking up after him when going on walks. This led us to discussing our Right of the Week, which is:

‘Education should teach children to respect the natural environment’

Throughout the week, Birch class will be on the lookout to see who is looking after our environment.  They will also be further preparing for next week to discuss our new ‘News’ segment of assembly.

During ‘Listen’, Jack sang us the song ‘Miss You’ by Clean Bandit. This was followed by everyone taking part in our signing song.

Our Focus of the Week will be Good Looking, and points will be given to classes by Birch when they see other students doing this well. This is also our Sign of the Week.

Our star awards this week:

  • Our award for Class of the Week goes to Pine Class for using purposeful spaces
  • Our Finer Diners this week are Aidan, Marie and Jamie for practising their cutlery grip.
  • George receives the Rights Respecting Award this week for independently serving water to the group.

Our assembly this week ended with a song that Birch class has chosen had chosen for us, which was ‘Alone’ by Alan Walker. Next week, Pine Class will have the opportunity to choose a song for us as a reward for being our Class of the Week.
