Scottish Autism Raise Concerns Over Social Care Pay

Our Chief Executive, Dorry McLaughlin, has penned a letter to Scottish Government Cabinet Secretaries, John Swinney and Humza Yousaf, outlining our significant concerns over the proposed pay settlement for social care workers.

At present our organisation is facing a significant recruitment and retention challenge, as a direct consequence of pay differentials between the third sector and equivalent local government/NHS roles.

The pay settlements currently on the table will only serve to widen this gap further, and make it very challenging for us to recruit and retain staff to deliver the lifeline services we provide.
