Looking After Your Smile

Pupils met some special guests in last week’s assembly – puppets with full sets of teeth!

Brought in by Dental Health Nurse, Karen, she used the puppets to demonstrate how to brush your teeth and explained why this is so important. There was also a giant set of teeth that Karen brought in to show pupils and give them the chance to practice themselves.

It was exciting to have guests in assembly and for those who were a bit shy, Karen took the puppets around each class afterwards so that everyone had the chance to meet them.

Pupils also enjoyed a related presentation by Oak class. Every morning, pupils in Oak class brush their teeth whilst watching a short video of ZingZilla’s (musical primates) performing the ‘Brush Your Teeth’ song. This was played during assembly and enjoyed by all.

There were also lots of star awards at assembly with pupils recognised for a number of achievements such as taking part in the art club, making friends with new pupils and being an effective contributor when supporting fellow pupils in the playground - well done everyone!
