Time for a holiday!

Over the last few weeks the school has been embracing all things Scottish. On Burns Night, parents were invited to the school for a very special Burns Supper.  As well as the traditional readings, pupils' artwork was on display and there was some excellent ceilidh dancing!

The theme has continued into this week with pupils from Birch Class on a hunt for the Loch Ness Monster. Inspired by The Proclaimers 500 mile walk, pupils embarked on a walk of their own to see if anyone had heard or seen the elusive creature.

Despite searching in barn sheds, asking sheep and cows, and even looking up to Wallace’s Monument, the pupils didn’t catch sight nor sound of Nessie. Instead they came back to school and created some fantastic drawings of the monster.

Birch Class presented photos of their walk in the final assembly before the break. Despite all the walking they had done, the class still found the time to do some baking. Ahead of Valentine’s Day next week, they made some delicious heart shaped shortbread and kindly offered it to other pupils and staff.

It wouldn’t be an assembly without Star Awards though and one of the pupils whose efforts were recognised this week was Tianze Ne – he was a confident individual when he accessed the garden – well done Tianze!

Further congratulations to Lorraine and the team for their superb cooking which see pupils enjoy delicious healthy food everyday.  Following on from last year when the team won the 'Healthy Living Award' we are delighted that they have maintained standards high enough to keep the award. They are now working towards the Healthy Living Award Plus!
