A Big Graduation

We had a very special assembly on Friday, not only as it was the last day before the start of the summer holidays but also because Cameron, Dermott and Erin have graduated!

At the beginning of our assembly today was saw some lovely pictures from Marley’s adventures playing outside, before watching a slideshow of pictures taken during our recent trip to Lendrick Muir. All of our staff and pupils had a great time and hopefully we will return again in the future.

Jack then gave us our last news update of the school year. Beginning with our music update, Jack told us about the recent break up of Cheryl and Liam Payne who have a son, Bear who is just over a year old. Following this, we learned that Tesco and French retail giant Carrefour are planning a strategic alliance in order to cut costs and lower prices for customers. Jack then gave us an update on Brexit and how ministers are struggling to come up with a plan that everyone will agree on.

Our news segment this week ended with Jack’s popular Tweet of the Week, which was:

‘How do you get an alien baby to fall to sleep? You rocket’

Our news was followed with some music. Our first song this week was ‘What a Wonderful World’ by Lewis Armstrong and we danced and practised some new signs along with the song. Jack then sang ‘Be Somebody’ to us.

In place of our Star Awards this week we celebrated Cameron, Dermott and Erin as it was their last day with us. Firstly, we watched a slideshow of Cameron’s time at the school. After this, we listened to Dermott’s favourite song, ‘Reach’ by S Club 7. Erin then opened some graduating gifts. We hope each of the students have enjoyed their time with us and wish them all the best!

To end the assembly we also said goodbye to Claire, who is leaving to work in our Learning and Development department at Head Office. Good luck in your new job Claire!
