Glam Up and Gift

Make a difference this festive season - Scottish Autism launches ‘Glam Up and Gift’ campaign

Scottish Autism has launched a new festive fund-raising campaign amid rising demand for its support services as autistic people and their families continue to struggle from the impact of the pandemic.

The charity is urging members of the public to ‘Glam Up’ this festive season and share their photos on social media using the '#GlamUpAndGift' hashtag while making a donation to support autistic people across Scotland.  This exciting new campaign is designed not only to raise money but to try and lift everyone’s spirits in these challenging times.

Funds raised will go towards vital services such as the charity’s online support programme Right Click and its Autism Advice Line, which has seen calls treble since the beginning of the pandemic.

The idea for the campaign was developed by a team of Scottish Autism staff and volunteers, and was launched today at their headquarters in Alloa (see attached photography with some of the team members).

Scottish Autism is Scotland's leading autism-specific charity with over 900 staff supporting autistic people across the country.

The charity’s Deputy Chief Executive, Charlene Tait, said: “We’re delighted to launch the ‘Glam Up and Gift’ campaign which is all about promoting festive fun whilst raising vital funds for our charitable services that support many autistic people and their families across Scotland.

“While we are slowly emerging from the pandemic, the restrictions that remain in place continue to impact autistic people and their families. This has created a significant demand for key services including our Autism Advice Line which has seen calls treble since the onset of Covid-19.

"This campaign developed by our staff will hopefully spread a little festive cheer whilst enabling us to raise funds for vital services to enable autistic people to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives."
