Online Art Gallery

Our weekly Art Group brings people together for creative expression in an informal environment, offering the chance for a mindful break from the day’s worries.

We are delighted to share the work of these talented group members below.

Angelina

Artwork 1 - "I drew this for two of the themes we had: patterns and florals. I used to mostly draw digitally but during the art group sessions I’ve been using traditional materials more and more which has been fun."

Artwork 2 - "This is a character called Pink Diamond from one of my favourite shows, Steven Universe. I drew it for the monochromatic theme."

Artwork 3 - "This used to be a doodle I made a while ago. The theme of "ugly art" or "art without judgement" got me to come back to it and remake it from that angle. Not trying to make it pretty let me just have fun with it."

"To me, a homeland village brings back memories of where my grandparents grew up. It's where our family's customs began and where we hold many dear memories. The close-knit community flourishes because everyone knows each other well. It's the place where I deeply feel connected to my family's past. According to my grandparents, since they didn't have cars, they used boats for various purposes such as traveling to different cities, hospitals, doctors, clinics, visiting relatives, and shopping. These boats were cleverly designed with roofs made of sticks to protect from the weather. During winter, without heaters, they relied on large sticks cut from trees to make fires for warmth. This created a cosy atmosphere where everyone gathered, chatting and enjoying hot tea and samosas."

Bio: "I'm a young autistic man striving to do something a lot more creative and fulfilling with my projects. All of which are private, and I intend to limit only to my own personal online presence if I can."

Piece Description: "Made this dumb and random piece of myself during a group session day, after having helped build up a shed with my dad (Separate plastic pieces though, not really out of wood, we would lose our heads lol.). Main inspiration for this being that one scene from Spongebob where Patrick is sitting on the ground with a plank nailed to his head, that popped into my mind for some reason.

Honestly, I did this because it was funny. Hope it gives you all a good laugh too!"
