Eileen Scott - One Stop Shop for Autism Fife – Service Manger
Eileen has a degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Autism. She began working with Scottish Autism in January 2012. Her first role was Support Worker for adults in an independent living setting in East Lothian.
Eileen was seconded to Autism Adviser at the One Stop Shop in Fife in September 2012. She helped with the opening and development of the service from its launch in February 2013. In September 2013, Eileen was seconded to manage the service and completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Autism from the University of Strathclyde in June 2015. Eileen has a special interest in autism and mental health, specifically stress tolerance and anxiety.
Debbie Travers - Autism Advisor (Children and Families)
Debbie studied Psychology at The Open University and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in 2018. In 2019, Debbie graduated with a MSc (with Merit) in Autism at Strathclyde University and in September 2020, Debbie completed a MSc in Global Mental Health at the University of Glasgow. Debbie is extremely passionate about mental health and previously volunteered with Glasgow Association for Mental Health since 2017. Debbie has 2 children and her passion for Autism started when her son was diagnosed in 2017. Debbie has a keen interest in supporting children and families. Having lived experience of being a parent of a child with Autism and dual characteristics of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Debbie has come to learn the complexities that the mainstream education system can pose to families working through an Autism diagnosis and she is keen to reinforce that parents and families are empowered, heard and validated throughout their journey.
Laura Murrie – Autism Advisor (Adults)
Laura is an autism advocate and dog-lover who enjoys travelling, 80s music, snowy weather and a strong coffee (or five!). Laura completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2019, and studied in the Netherlands for six months during her third year. Laura also completed a MSc in Research Psychology, a Mental Health First Aid certificate, and is currently completing a series of Understanding Autism modules. Laura volunteered with young autistic adults at social groups, and through engaging with autistic people, learned about the diversity within the autism spectrum. Laura chose to apply her knowledge and challenge myths about autism in her undergraduate dissertation, postgraduate thesis, and in her daily life, she actively promotes the idea that every autistic person is unique, valuable and should have their strengths acknowledged and needs supported.
Moira Hutton - One Stop Shop for Autism Fife – Clerical Officer
Moira previously worked in management for 20 years in the financial sector before now working part time as clerical support for the One Stop Shop. Moira joined the One Stop Shop in 2014 as a volunteer and then successfully applied for the post of Clerical Officer in 2015. Moira brings years of experience to the role and she is responsible for the management of statistics for our funders.
Special interest- Moira is a parent of a young autistic adult.
