Event Information

We think it is important to provide a platform for disabled people, families and carers to make their voices heard in the lead up to the election and invite you to register for what we hope will be an interesting and engaging event.
The hustings will take place on Thursday 22nd April from 3pm-5pm via Zoom and will include a 10 minute comfort break.
The hustings will be chaired by Journalist Pennie Taylor and we will be joined by representatives from the major political parties including:
- Jeremy Balfour – (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)
- Neil Gray – (Scottish National Party)
- Pam Duncan-Glancy – (Scottish Labour)
- Gillian Mackay – (The Scottish Green Party)
- John Waddell - (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
The hustings is a great opportunity for you to ask a question to the politicians present as well as hear their pitch for your vote.
Organisations Involved
The organisations who have assisted in organising the hustings are: ENABLE Scotland, Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland, Leonard Cheshire Disability, MS Society Scotland, National Autistic Society Scotland, RNIB Scotland, Scottish Autism, Sense Scotland and Sight Scotland.
Accessibility
An agenda and accessible papers will be sent to you in advance.
A British Sign Language interpreter and a Speech to Text interpreter will be available during the event

Asking a Question at the hustings
If you would like to ask a question at the event please tick the box on the registration form and one of our organisations will be in touch to talk through and offer guidance.
