Independent Review of Adult Social Care

Scottish Autism is engaging with the ALLIANCE, who have been invited to lead on engagement work with members and people across Scotland to inform the Advisory Panel of the Independent Review of Adult Social Care. From October-November 2020 the ALLIANCE plan to capture insight from partners, organisations and people who access social care services, using this person centred focus to help shape and inform the independent review.

Scottish Autism welcomes this review as an opportunity to help shape and improve services for autistic people and their families in Scotland.

The ALLIANCE has designed the People at the Centre (Social Care Review) Engagement Programme, which aims to:

  • Hear the voices of people and organisations across Scotland on the needs, rights and preferences of people who use services, their families and their carers.
  • Design and deliver an inclusive and diverse programme of engagement and communication activity that ensures people are supported to participate and their voices are heard.
  • Capture learning and feedback on current experiences from people, unpaid carers and third sector organisations – particularly focused around identified care groups.

Get Involved
Scottish Autism is supporting this programme of engagement and would encourage autistic individuals, families and carers to comment on their experiences of accessing social care and support and what they would like to change or improve.  You can take part in People at the Centre (Social Care Review) here: online survey
Please note closing date Wednesday 4th November.

For more information about the Terms of Reference of the independent review, watch the interview with Derek Feeley on the ALLIANCE YouTube or view the Adult Social Care Terms of Reference.
