Flourish Project Launches in Fife

Fife Councils ‘Our Minds Matter’ has partnered with Scottish Autism to launch the Flourish Project in Fife, to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people.

Flourish is a project delivered by Scottish Autism, which is designed to support parents and carers of young people in Fife (up to age 26) who have neurodevelopmental differences. The project offers a range of holistic approaches to support wellbeing, from personalised advice to peer support, with the aim of empowering parents and carers to support their own and the young person's emotional wellbeing.

Commenting, Scottish Autism's Practice and Community Development Lead, Joanna Panese, said:
"We are delighted to be working alongside Fife Council to deliver Flourish which will ensure parents and carers of children with Neurodevelopmental differences receive the support they need.
"Having access to the right support pre, during and post diagnosis is so important and can make a huge difference to the overall wellbeing of families."

Gail McLeod, Fife Council's Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Policy Officer added:
"We are delighted to partner with Scottish Autism in launching Flourish. We recognise that children and young people benefit from support from a wide range of people around them including families, friends and professionals to support their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
"We feel passionate that Flourish will be a positive addition to our community mental health supports and services and look forward to working in partnership with them."
