Landmarks given purple makeover to mark World Autism Awareness Month

We have spread our shade of purple across Scotland to mark the beginning of World Autism Month in April and World Autism Awareness Day (2nd April)! We hope that in doing this we will be able to raise awareness and understanding of autism, a lifelong developmental condition affecting one in 100 people.

To mark the occasion, our tone of purple is currently being prominently displayed on two of Scotland’s key landmarks: the M8 motorway pyramids and the Falkirk Wheel.

Our logo and the words 'Awareness Month' have been painted onto the pyramids on the M8 motorway near Bathgate and the sheep grazing beside them have been painted purple. This will be displayed for the whole month of April.

Last night (31st March), the Falkirk Wheel was illuminated in purple tones to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day, which takes place on 2nd April. The wheel will remain purple until 3rd April.

Are you looking for a way to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day? We are running our 'A is for Autism' campaign again this year and would love to have you involved. Head over to our campaign page to find out how.
