Event Information

What can you learn both about and from autistic teachers? And how can we facilitate inclusion for neurodivergent learners? Come along to this inline workshop, 1–2.30pm to find out!
Listen to autistic teachers Elkie Kammer, Alan Morrison and Eiman Munro about their experiences in the classroom and the particular skills that they bring. You will also hear from Charlene Tait of Scottish Autism, Dr Becky Wood (who leads the Autistic School Staff Project) and Kabie Brook of Autism Rights Group Highland. This co-produced event will incorporate a book launch of Learning From Autistic Teachers: How to be a Neurodiversity-Inclusive School, described as ‘a landmark publication’ and ‘a wonderful and hopeful book’ – Elkie, Alan and Eiman are all contributors to the book and Becky is the lead editor.
The event is generously funded by Scottish Autism and the John and Lorna Wing Foundation.
