Committed to Excellence Award
On Tuesday 18 June, Quality Scotland presented us with the Committed to Excellence Award for our efforts in continually improving the running of our organisation and the services provided for individuals with autism and their families.
The accolade comes on the back of an intense period of self assessment where we adopted the Public Service Improvement Framework (PSIF) to enhance our overall effectiveness and efficiency as an organisation. While PSIF is used by many Local Authorities in Scotland as the model to assess their work, we are one of the few third sector groups to embrace the framework.
Under PSIF organisations are required to self-assess their work across a broad range of key areas, including leadership, service planning, human resources and customer relations.
Alan Somerville, Chief Executive of Scottish Autism, said: "This award underlines our team’s commitment to be the best at what we do and to set a standard of best practice across the care-focused sector. We will continue to strive for excellence and look forward to further improving and evidencing the quality of our organisation. All of these efforts are focused on our ultimate aim of delivering the best possible services for people with autism in Scotland.”
Offering his congratulations to Scottish Autism, Dave Bradley, Chief Executive Officer, Quality Scotland said:
“Scottish Autism stands out as a prime example of how a commitment to sustaining business excellence can bring about transformational change to an organisation in relation to its staff development and best practice programmes.
"Staff and volunteers at Scottish Autism acknowledge that business excellence is a continual journey and can take great heart in what they have achieved with this ‘Committed to Excellence’ success.”
