Scottish Autism awards Honorary Memberships to inspirational fundraisers
Honorary Memberships were introduced by Scottish Autism in 2010, to celebrate and acknowledge outstanding efforts made. This year they were presented to Ianthe Hind and Marion Critchley who received a gift made by Art Opportunities. Art Opportunities is a service based in Alloa which offers a creative environment for individuals with autism to develop natural art and design skills.
2012 saw Ianthe Hind from Edinburgh complete a huge personal challenge of taking part in twelve organised runs in twelve months to raise money for Scottish Autism. She completed the final race in November, and smashed her pb of running 10 km in under 1 hour.
Marion Critchley raised over £1,000 at her party this year to celebrate her 80thbirthday!
Carolyne Nurse, Fundraising Manager at Scottish Autism said “Without the remarkable efforts of fundraisers, our Autism Support Team would not be able to provide invaluable information and advice to the many hundreds of families and individuals who contact them. We are indebted to Ianthe and Marion who devote such a lot of time and effort, helping us to enable those living with autism in Scotland through the whole life journey. Hopefully this award goes some way towards saying thank you.”
(L-R) Honorary Member, Marion Critchley and Chairman of Scottish Autism, Paul Prescott.
