Top Marks for Central Outreach Team
During a three week inspection, the Care Inspectorate assessed our service on three key areas concerning the quality of our: care and support; staffing; management and leadership. The thorough inspection involved visits to several day services and the homes of service users. In depth consultation was also carried out with a variety of staff and with service users and their families.
The quality of our staffing was rated overall as ‘excellent’ and the way in which service users are involved in staff recruitment and development particularly impressed the inspectors. Our Central Outreach service use an innovative staff profiling tool to identify the staffing needs and preferences of each individual they support. As well as ensuring the highest levels of personalisation in the care and support an individual receives, this information is also used to identify any training requirements a staff member may need before working with an individual. Service users are also involved in the recruitment process and put forward questions to be answered by candidates at interview. These are just some of the examples which are cited in the review, it can be downloaded in full from the Care Inspectorate website.
