Anniversary Celebrations for the Lanarkshire One Stop Shop
Entertainment was provided by our resident musician Boyd, one of our service users, who say’s music helps his depression and he likes to see people happy. Many joined in the sing along whilst others chatted to staff who talked about the many activities and resources provided in the One Stop Shop.
The generosity of the parents, friends and family towards the day with the provision if home baking, outside planters, photography and their time in helping out, was overwhelming. This is testament to the unity with the local community in making the One Stop Shop a success.
Many local partner professionals joined in the celebration and enjoyed chatting and meeting others.
Garry, one of the service users, gave a very poignant speech about his time at the One Stop Shop, describing how he has overcome anxieties through relaxation workshops, which saw him previously restricted in his social interactions. Now he is able to present his story in order to encourage others to do the same.
Feedback comments and suggestions from the day will be used for future developments within the One Stop Shop.
