Scottish Autism takes to the stage at BILD’s Positive Behaviour Support conference
The two day event will bring together the best evidence for practice in positive behaviour support from both a UK and international perspective presented by leading speakers in the field.
David Harkins, Quality and Risk Manager, comments: “We were delighted to be selected to speak at BILD’s conference and highlight our approach as an organisation in applying positive behaviour support which centres on the individual service user. In particular, we will be focusing on the impact of staff training in supporting and understanding behaviour that could be considered challenging.”
Karen Sweeney, Senior Training Partner, adds: “Our workshop will detail the rational for a whole organisational approach towards positive behaviour support which is underpinned by systematic staff training. We will draw on data which evidences the effectiveness of this approach in bringing about a cultural change in relation to how positive support for behaviour is understood.”
The conference will be attended by researchers and practitioners with an interest in both the evidence base of the impact of positive behaviour support and its practical application. Delegates will hear keynote presentations and take part in workshops.
