Scottish Autism celebrates World Autism Awareness Day

Fundraising

  • Our fundraising team and helpers are bag-packing in Sainsbury’s stores in Stirling and Partick – pop in and show your support.
  • Loyal supporters of ours are also in Glasgow Central station collecting sponsorship for their ambitious treks and adventures to raise money for Scottish Autism.
  • Supporters of Scottish Autism as well as staff and service users are coming to the end of a unique challenge to swim the equivalent of the English Channel (21 miles) to raise money for the charity.

Awareness-Raising

  • Scottish Autism has visited Menstrie Primary School where 260 pupils took park in autism workshops to encourage them to think and learn about some of the more common issues experienced by individuals living with autism.
  • Today we have launched our very own Blip photo sharing site -http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/1875285 - where we will post a new photo every day for a year, documenting our work supporting people with autism across Scotland.
  • To mark World Autism Awareness Day, The Riverside Museum, Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel, is opening its doors to Scottish Autism for an hour on Friday 6 April allowing exclusive access to the exhibits for our service-users and staff.
  • Scottish Autism has also been working closely with students at James Watt College to raise awareness about autism and in turn, the students have created artwork as part of their course to support the charity with its marketing efforts. See our gallery below for examples of their work.
