Event Information

This seminar will share some of the ways in which Scottish Autism is actively involving people with a variety of communication needs and preferences in determining the services that they receive. By focusing on the idea of ‘voice’ both as a way of recognising individual means of communication and the right to have a say in service provision, we look at a range of organisational initiatives from creative projects to formal mechanisms for individual involvement. Initiatives under discussion will include using adapted survey interviews for organisation-wide consultation, the application of mixed media and mobile technology in case management and collective strategies for validating voice such as service user forums and theatre performance.
