This picture shows my daughter during an emotional meltdown. It depicts her feeling down, alone and unable to control her emotions. Prior to this picture she had been screaming at me for about 15-20 minutes while walking to the bus stop because she didn't want to do it and, unlike you or I, she can't express herself the way we do. Episodes like this are a challenge for many parents of children with autism and bystanders find it difficult to understand what we are trying to cope with.
