What it Means to Me

Jenni Roberts

Jenni Roberts, Lanarkshire’s One Stop Shop Manager, chats to us about what’s been happening in the service since it opened at the start of March. She also shares a video which captures how the autism community in Lanarkshire are benefiting from the service.

The last eight months have been very busy with a whole range of activities going on.  The service has been shaped based on the needs of those accessing it.  This has involved collaborating with existing service providers and listening to feedback from the people who are accessing the service.

As the service continues to grow, so does our staff team. We now have more advisors, new volunteers and two new work placements.  We are also pleased to welcome NHS staff into the OSS to provide diagnostic services once a week.

Our aim is to continue to provide information and advice to parents and carers, professionals and people who have autism through the provision of training, workshops, parent groups and skill based groups.

I hope you enjoy the short video below which features individuals and parents who have benefited from coming to the One Stop Shop.
