David Milne

My name is David Milne. I have autism and was diagnosed when I was 5, although my mum knew when I was about 2. I am a very happy boy who has lots of hobbies these include going on train journeys, going on holiday and also going to the car boot sales. My mum had a terrible time getting me to my local high school and getting the correct educational package that I needed.

Now I am in 5th year, life is getting easier at school. The boys and girls never used to really talk to me. I still don't get invited to parties but at least they chat to me now. My papa is my best friend. We have great fun together. He takes me on holiday, we also go on the train most weekends and just recently he has started to teach me to play the guitar. He is one in a million. He is a great support to my wee mum who I love dearly. She has pushed for every bit of support she can get for me. This has been difficult for my mum but she never ever gives up…
